Samsung Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its partners to operate an NFT ecosystem for new Galaxy phones.
“Samsung E. is promoting consumer experience innovation that connects non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the online virtual world to offline real benefits.“
The firm said the NFT ecosystem will foster “consumer experience innovation.”
NFTs for better customer experience
Samsung intends the NFTs to serve as a way to deliver “practical benefits” – details will be confirmed at an event scheduled for August 10. According to CNET, at the event, They will launch the Galaxy Fold 4.Taken together with the list of partners according to the MOU, the Korean press release suggested a face-to-face/retail component to the use process. It mentioned a list of retail partners, including the company’s in-house Digital Plaza stores.

While Theta Labs’ role is to broadcast Galaxy NFTs, NFC payment solutions firm Allink provides authentication services. Theta Networks co-founder Mitch Liu said in an English-language press release shared with CryptoSlate that Theta has “launched the world’s largest offline NFT fundraiser ever.”
“more than 100,000 NFT holders can use their Theta NFT online and offline through ThetaPass technology. This is only the beginning, and we will continue expanding retail and ecommerce store coverage and utility to broaden benefits to Samsung NFT holders.”
ThetaPass refers to an NFT ticketing system for accessing virtual events mentioned in January.
Samsung had previously partnered with Theta Networks
Theta Networks and Samsung have previously partnered on an NFT digital collection project to celebrate the Galaxy S22 and S8 Tablet launch.
Those who pre-order the above models in Korea can request free NFT by signing up on Theta Network’s NFT marketplace – ThetaDrop. The process involved using a code received through verification via the “Samsung Members” app.
At the time, Liu said the collaboration “exemplified the global adoption of Theta’s blockchain technology,” and he expects to build a long-term community with this opportunity.
