On August 17, art+entertainment company Orange Comet announced its partnership with acclaimed actor Sir Anthony Hopkins to launch its first NFT collection. Orange Comet says that this will be the first series of the NFT series “The Eternal Collection”, which will run for 3 days. During this time, collectors will have access to more than 1000 unique images of the player based on different archetypes.
Anthony Hopkins’ Interest in Nfts Started With Zero Contact Movie
Hopkins’ interest in creating an art collection that immortalized his film career grew after the movie Zero Contact was released as an NFT on Vuele – so much. Vuele is a Web3 creative studio platform that allows viewing and aggregation of the content of limited-edition feature films and NFTs. “NFTs are a blank canvas for creating art in a new format,” Hopkins said in an interview with Yahoo Finance
“I’m probably the oldest guy in the NFT community and on social media, which proves all is possible at any age.” said Anthony Hopkins
According to Orange Comet CEO Dave Broome, the collection will launch on OpenSea in mid-September. It will feature 10 of Hopkins’ most relevant character archetypes, such as Hannibal Lecter in “Silence of the Lambs” and Odin in Marvel’s “Thor.”
The Collection Represents Different Aspects of the Artist’s Film Career
Anthony Hopkins’ collection was created to allow fans and collectors to appreciate the actor’s career. Orange Comet CEO Dave Broome said it was difficult to create a collection that stamped all of Hopkins’ artwork throughout his career.
“These are high pedigree projects, and opportunities that will always sustain no matter what, and that’s what we expect here […] We think it’s great timing actually because of the appetite for something of this high fidelity with this kind of an iconic talent. This is about IP, art and brands, and taking Hopkins as a both an artist and a brand to the world.”
Auctioneers will be able to meet the artist as well as take home a signed Hopkins art book. On the third day, 1,000 original paintings will be auctioned and 39 signed Hopkins art books will be randomly distributed to buyers. Also, 5 recipients will be selected to join a video call with the player via Discord.
